This is a great opportunity to join the CLS Finance Hub, which supports the finance processes and activities for a diverse range of schools and departments across the College of Life Sciences. The role involves reviewing and approving purchase orders raised by end-users (ensuring compliance with departmental requirements, procurement policies, and University and legal financial regulations), checking budgets and charging correctly, reconciling monthly purchase card statements, assisting with conference registrations and travel bookings, and other related finance administration tasks. The role also includes processing invoices, including those related to medical student placements.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above (including Maths & English) or equivalent qualifications. Good IT and organisational skills are essential, along with familiarity with financial systems and/or databases in a comparable role. Experience with electronic purchasing systems and online catalogues is desirable.
You should have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Managing and prioritising workload to handle urgent tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail is crucial. You will join a busy, dynamic, and successful team in a role offering varied and exciting opportunities to engage with a wide range of individuals. An understanding of financial regulations applicable to higher education institutions is desirable.
