Your new role
We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, based in the Peterborough area. You will manage a team of multi-disciplinary contractors and supply chain partners, promoting collaboration and innovation to lead in commercial management.
Main responsibilities include:
- Achieving the appropriate commercial results through accurate financial reporting.
- Building and maintaining relationships with the supply chain and clients.
- Managing subcontractor accounts financially and contractually.
- Monitoring subcontractors against the programme and negotiating final accounts.
- Developing, managing, and coordinating procurement schedules.
- Completing measurements and valuations of work, ensuring contractual compliance.
- Monitoring project expenditure and providing cost analysis and projections.
- Exploring opportunities to maximize value and minimize costs.
- Liaising with clients on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and payments.
- Identifying contractual claim situations and preparing documentation.
- Creating project-specific commercial risk and opportunity profiles with controls and responsibilities.
- Leading and supporting a team of Surveyors, including performance management, reviews, workforce planning, and professional development.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in pre- and post-contract roles in construction commercial management on major projects.
- Experience administering NEC contracts.
- Degree or equivalent in commercial management or related field.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering techniques, plant, equipment, and logistical issues.
- Awareness of how costs impact project timelines and construction solutions.
- Strong IT skills.
- Full UK manual driving license.
