Job summary
A health care provider in Gloucester is seeking a full-time Speech and Language Therapist to join a friendly multidisciplinary team. The role involves providing specialist therapy services to adults and children with learning disabilities, alongside mentoring less experienced staff. Responsibilities
- Provide specialist speech and language therapy to learning disability clients.
- Conduct communication assessments and develop interventions.
- Oversee less experienced clinicians and students.
Skills
The post is fulltime and will be split across our Community Learning Disability Team in Gloucester and our Learning Disability Intensive Support Service (LDISS).
You will be part of a small friendly multidisciplinary team comprising of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, Psychiatrists.
- Providing a highly specialist speech and language therapy service to adults and children with learning disabilities.
- Providing highly specialist communication assessment and implementation of evidence-based interventions to individuals who are referred to LDISS or Berkeley House.
- Providing specialist eating and drinking assessments and interventions to adults with learning disabilities referred to either service.
- Being a supervisor and mentor for Band 5/6 SLTs and students under the remit of the profession.
- Carrying out delegated tasks outlined within policy development.
