Petrofac is seeking a Buyer on a PAYE 12 month contract position based in Aberdeen.

Job Title: Buyer

Key accountabilities for the role of Buyer within Asset Solutions:

1. Supporting and reporting to the Senior Buyer and/or Supply Chain Focal Point where identified.
2. Source and procure operational and engineering materials and services in the most efficient and cost-effective method in accordance with company procedures and established best ethical practices.
3. Manage and update Procurement Status Reports (PSR) to ensure timely selection of suppliers, placement of order commitments and delivery of goods in accordance with asset and/or project schedule.
4. Review and initiate new supplier onboarding and application process ensuring compliance with company Due Diligence requirements.
5. Develop and prepare bidder's lists including any pre-qualification activities where required in conjunction with supply chain, project and client requirements.
6. Issue enquiries for goods and services, resolve any queries, issue all relevant documentation, receive and analyze tenders and produce bid summaries and recommendations to award in line with company delegation of authority matrix.
7. Engage in all price negotiations with suppliers/bidders to achieve demonstrable price reductions, resolve claims and handle variations with suppliers in line with company delegation of authority matrix.
8. Prepare and issue purchase orders for the supply of services, goods and materials complete with all relevant technical, commercial and schedule requirements.
9. Post-order administration and management including variations, expediting and inspection requirements, invoice queries, input into performance feedback process including performance reviews and commercial close out.
10. Effective interface with other key disciplines such as expediting, quality, engineering, materials and logistics, accounts, etc.
11. Proficient in the correct use of all company supply chain systems and tools, Oracle, MODS, etc.
12. Attend and participate at internal and external progress meetings as well as represent the supply chain function at corporate meetings when required.
13. Participate in corporate supply chain initiatives where called upon.
14. Liaise effectively with Project and Operations teams at all levels, fostering relationships with suppliers, clients, and key stakeholders.

The candidate will have procurement and expediting experience particularly in piping/structural fabrication, bulk commodity items, valves and in-line instrumentation, along with local supply market knowledge.
