The opportunity:

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your management skills in a dynamic, customer facing area within Zurich?

Due to the growth of our Corporate Risk Business we are looking to recruit an additional Team Leader within our Operations Function. The successful candidate will lead a highly customer focused operational team. You will be expected to manage the team to ensure we deliver quality outcomes alongside challenging service levels, including managing seasonal workload peaks, whilst also developing strong business relationships and managing stakeholder expectations.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

  • Deliveringagainst key business, team and individual KPIs
  • Ensuring robust governance is in place and maintained across the team, so that the team operates and remains compliant at all times
  • Maintaining a constant awareness of work volumes, trends and activities to enable responsive capacity and resource management activity
  • Undertaking all aspects of performance management including talent and succession planning, as well as celebrating success
  • Working closely with the other operational team leaders to ensure a successful claims function
  • Working closely with the Training Academy and Technical Support Teams to inspire, support and develop members of the team to enable them to achieve their full potential
  • Supporting and encouraging innovation which improves customer outcomes
  • Producingaccurate and timely reporting as required

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience of managing a team (Group Risk or an operational environment preferable but not essential)
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities and cope with a fast-moving environment with varying workloads and pressures
  • Passionate about customers and driving through Continuous Improvement
  • Ability to listen and influence effectively, which may also necessitate some difficult conversations
  • Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner with the team, engaging sensitivity when necessary
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and judgement skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong focus on quality and root cause analysis
  • GR1 & CF1 or equivalent technical knowledge within Group Risk environment preferable (or be willing to study)
