Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Youth Worker for an alternative provision in Bury. You will support vulnerable children and young people with SEMH, Autism, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviour, helping them engage with their education and develop positive relationships.

The role is full-time with an immediate start. You will work to maintain consistent support, strengthening emotional wellbeing and behaviour management across the placement.

Qualifications

• Desirable qualification in Youth Work, Teaching Assistant, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting vulnerable children or young people.
• Experience with SEMH, Autism, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Patient and resilient approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Salary: £92.63 - £115 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision based in Bury who are looking to appoint a Youth Worker. The provision supports vulnerable children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, Autism, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviour, providing a supportive environment where pupils can engage positively with their education.

The provision is looking to take on a Youth Worker on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Youth Worker will support young people with their learning, emotional wellbeing and behaviour, helping them to develop positive relationships and remain engaged within the provision.

The successful Youth Worker will have:

• Relevant Youth Work, Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification desirable
• Experience supporting vulnerable children or young people
• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviour
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
