The service's goal is to provide relational based youth work interventions to strengthen the young people's existing plans, improve life chances and reduce escalation to more expensive and intensive statutory services such as Youth Justice, Childrens services and Mental Health services.

The Youth Offer Service has four distinct core intervention areas:

  • Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health interventions (CYP Haven Programme)
  • Targeted project-based vocational skills interventions
  • Targeted Group Community based interventions
  • ENGAGE Police Custody intervention of High risk and vulnerable young people

About the Role

The CYP Haven provides a preventative service for young people in need of support in relation to their emotional, mental health and wellbeing. This role will sit within the Youth Offer strand of the Adolescent Service and will provide support for young people to prevent them from attending higher tier services or presentation at A&E.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support The CYP Haven offer alongside the CYP Haven staff team. All provision must be in accordance with the youth work curriculum and all relevant policies and guidelines including Health and Safety, Equal opportunities and Safeguarding.

  • Support the delivery of high-quality targeted opportunities for young people, concentrating on support around emotional and mental health but including wider community opportunities.
  • Ensure that all youth work interventions have clear learning objectives and that they are evaluated; that attendance, contact and participation are recorded in line with the agreed Youth Offer information management and that those interventions contribute to the planned responses of other professionals.
