Job description

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced Youth Worker to work in a primary and/or secondary school catering to students with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

About The Role

The Youth Worker will support young people with Special Educational Needs by:

  1. Building a strong rapport with students to encourage attendance and engagement.
  2. Following the guidance of teachers while managing conflicts based on understanding of individual students.
  3. Working hours are 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  4. Position is term-time only for the full academic year.
About The School

Located in Launceston, the school caters to students with moderate needs, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. It is easily accessible with parking and public transport links. The school supports staff development through weekly CPD training and team meetings.

About You

Candidates with a relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications, or similar are preferred but not essential. You should be able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check. Experience working with children with challenging behaviors and backgrounds, along with a non-judgmental and caring approach, is important.
