Job summary

SPACE is inviting applications for a Youth Support Worker to join our team delivering street-based youth work sessions across South Devon and at our Newton Abbot youth centre. The role is part-time, 7 hours per week, with two evenings, likely including Friday evenings and occasional weekends.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young people, with a friendly, collaborative approach and a commitment to inclusive, high-quality youth work.

About the job

Location: Newton Abbot - working across South Devon

Employment type: Permanent

Hours of work: 7 hours per week (2 evenings)

Positions available: 1 post

Salary: JNC: unqualified scale pt 5 - 6 (£25,580.00 - £25,919.00), qualified scale pt 7 - 10 (£26,225.00 - £28,516.00) Pro Rata

Come and join a team of youth workers delivering high quality youth work. Learn new skills - training and support will be provided.

Safeguarding Statement and Pre-Employment Checks

As part of our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, all of our employees, contractors and volunteers will be expected to comply. Upon a conditional offer of appointment being made, all employees will also be required to satisfy our pre-employment screening process which will include:

  • Receipt of satisfactory references cover for 3 years to current
  • Documentary evidence of right to work in the UK
  • A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
