Job summary

Rotherwood is seeking compassionate Casual Support Workers to assist young people aged 16-25 in supported accommodation settings in Wakefield and Halifax. You will help them develop practical living skills, access education and employment, and build confidence while promoting safeguarding and wellbeing.

The role requires flexibility across a rota including evenings, weekends, and waking nights. Prior experience with vulnerable groups and a full UK driving license is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children, young people, care leavers, or vulnerable adults.
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and resiliently.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexible approach to shift work.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to empower young people to develop independent living skills.
• Help access education, training and employment opportunities.
• Assist in building confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
• Support with tenancies and maintaining accommodation.
• Facilitate access to healthcare and community services.
• Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
