Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a Youth Support Worker to empower young people in Weston-Super-Mare schools. This role offers flexible arrangements including part-time, full-time, temporary, or long-term contracts, with a focus on providing emotional and practical support to pupils.

You will build trusted relationships, support those with social, emotional and behavioural challenges, and collaborate with teachers and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and motivated individual.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Experience in youth work or related fields is beneficial but not required.
• Proactive and adaptable approach with diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and behaviour management training.

Responsibilities

• Engage with young people, offering emotional and practical support.
• Build positive relationships to help develop confidence and resilience.
• Support individuals with social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
• Encourage participation in educational and recreational activities.
• Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
• Liaise with teachers, carers and professionals to ensure the best support.
• Help create a safe and inclusive environment for personal growth.
