Job summary

Manchester Youth Zone invites applications for a Youth Work Manager - Seniors (11-14s). You will oversee universal sessions for young people aged 11-25, plan engaging activities, and manage a team of youth and play workers to deliver high-quality programmes while upholding safeguarding and inclusion.

The role requires relevant qualifications, leadership experience, and a passion for helping young people thrive in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Strong youth/work background and management experience.
• Ability to plan and deliver a range of activities.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating sessions.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead open access sessions for 11-14s using the national youth work curriculum.
• Ensure sessions are adequately staffed for safety and engagement.
• Oversee recruitment and induction of new staff when needed.
• Enforce behaviour policies and safety plans across activities.
• Collaborate with staff to include targeted activities in open sessions.
• Maintain high-quality briefing/debriefing records to inform planning.
