Job summary

Qualifications

Job Opportunity: Residential Care Worker

Do you have experience working with young people in care or in the justice system? Are you interested in working with young offenders? Are you emotionally and physically resilient?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we have an opportunity available with the local authority to work in a secure children's home as a Residential Care Worker.

The unit is a secure children's home providing care and support to young people aged 10-18 referred by the Youth Custody Service, including Youth Offenders.

The environment can be tense and anxiety-provoking, with some young people presenting physically threatening behaviour. Surveillance cameras are in use in most areas for safety.

What We Offer
  • Starting salary of £27,334
  • Secure Unit Allowance of £2,500 per annum
  • Additional approx. £1,400 for Weekend and Bank Holiday work
  • OTE of £31,000
  • Rotating hours between 7.30am-10.30pm and alternate weekends - No nights or sleep-ins
  • On-site meals usually eaten with the young people
  • Local authority benefits

Candidate Requirements
