Job summary

Action for Children in Inverclyde is seeking a compassionate Young Person’s Practitioner to support school pupils aged 5–18 with high‑quality, school‑based group work and targeted early help. You will help create a safe space for wellbeing and ensure services meet individual needs.

You’ll work as part of a team delivering Blues Programme activities, with some out‑of‑hours work and travel to required sites. A caring, child-centered approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 3 (or SVQ Level 2 and working towards level 3) or HNC in a discipline relating to Children and Young People.
  • Experience in multi-agency social care, schools, youth work or health environment with safeguarding.
  • Driving licence and access to a car; travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support to children, young people and families with outcomes-focused care.
  • Deliver group work and one-to-one interventions in school settings or wider community.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings and share insight for reflective practice.
  • Plan resources and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, colleagues and partner agencies.
