Job summary

Newcastle City Council’s Youth Justice Service in Newcastle Civic Centre is recruiting a Youth Justice Support Worker on a fixed-term 12-month basis.

You will assist Case Managers to deliver high-quality services to children aged 10-17 who have contact with the Criminal Justice System, supporting intervention plans and promoting positive outcomes. The role includes restorative justice work, direct and group activities, and covering duty rotas as Appropriate Adult.

Responsibilities

• Assist Case Managers to deliver high quality services to children aged 10-17 in contact with the Criminal Justice System.
• Support intervention plans to prevent escalation, and promote positive outcomes for young people.
• Deliver restorative justice activities, including direct work and group work with children.
• Cover duty rotas and act as Appropriate Adult when required.
