Job summary

Opus People Solutions Ltd. is seeking an experienced Youth Justice Officer to support children and young people within a multi-agency Youth Justice Service in Walsall. The role involves assessments, planning, case management and collaboration with partner agencies to deliver positive outcomes.

The position requires prior Youth Justice Service experience, knowledge of youth justice legislation, and ability to handle complex caseloads. Hybrid working with office attendance on site is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Youth Justice Service or similar offending/prevention setting.
• Strong understanding of youth justice legislation and practice.
• Experience completing ASSET+ assessments and PDATs is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and deliver targeted interventions.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support children and young people subject to out-of-court interventions and statutory court orders.
• Carry out comprehensive assessments, planning, and intervention work in line with Youth Justice standards.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support and achieve positive outcomes.
• Provide court cover and undertake Appropriate Adult duties on a rota basis.
• Engage effectively with young people, parents/carers, victims, and partner organisations.
• Maintain accurate case records and reports in line with legislative requirements and service standards.
