Building Recruitment Co Ltd is seeking an Advice Worker to support young people facing homelessness or housing difficulties. You will provide practical advice, guide options, and advocate for access to welfare rights and services.

You will work with local authorities and housing providers, conducting needs assessments, maintaining records, and ensuring safeguarding measures are followed. This temp role offers structured hours and community-based engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable groups, especially homeless young people.
• Knowledge of housing benefits, welfare rights and housing options.
• Ability to manage a caseload and provide individual support.

Responsabilités

• Deliver advice drop-in sessions and attend external surgeries, hubs and community drop-ins.
• Advise on housing options, homelessness, benefits and welfare rights to maximise income.
• Provide advocacy and support to access other agencies and services.
• Refer to local authority homelessness teams, Children’s Services and Adult Social Services.
• Complete homelessness and housing needs assessments.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and make referrals when necessary.
• Build relationships with local authorities, social services and housing providers.
• Contact families to explore options and provide mediation when needed.
• Maintain accurate case notes and monitoring information.
• Attend team meetings and training in line with policy.
