Job summary

The Children’s Society is seeking an Exploitation Practitioner to support young people at risk of exploitation. The role is 35 hours per week, based at Newcastle with travel across the North East, offering direct 1:1 and group support within a safeguarding-focused team.

You’ll work with partners across police and social services to deliver high-quality interventions and contribute to training and awareness-raising initiatives. A relevant qualification and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building positive relationships with young people
• Awareness of exploitation risk factors and indicators
• Understanding of children’s rights and safeguarding systems
• Experience with safeguarding referrals and safe practice

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to young people 1:1 and in groups
• Work with police, social services and other agencies to coordinate interventions
• Lead on group activities and awareness-raising in multiple settings
• Contribute to multi-agency safeguarding and referral processes
• Raise awareness of exploitation issues with local services and teams
• Participate in Youth Voice and participation initiatives
