Job summary

Keys Children is seeking Engage Mentors to deliver targeted interventions that support engagement, wellbeing, and re-entry into education in Newcastle. The role offers flexible, term-time only self-employed work with a minimum of 2 days per week and up to 5 days depending on availability.

You will deliver one-to-one sessions in community and educational settings, helping young people build confidence, resilience, and safer life choices while upholding safeguarding policies and maintaining

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience working with vulnerable children and young people.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, one-to-one interventions in community and educational settings.
• Support young people to build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.
• Deliver sessions on healthy relationships, online safety, and county lines awareness.
• Use creative and tailored approaches to help manage risk and encourage positive decision-making.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and their families.
• Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and produce detailed professional reports.
• Support pathways that enable young people to re-engage with education.
