Qualifications

As Youth Early Help Service, we are dedicated to ensuring that all young people and their families succeed, excel in their education, and have access to a range of exciting and early help services when needed. We strive to help children and young people maximise their potential for growth and development, become resilient, stay safe, and lead healthier, more positive lifestyles.

What You'll Be Doing / How You'll Be Involved

We are seeking an inspirational Team Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for a multidisciplinary team of youth practitioners. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, effective, and outcome-focused services in the locality, in accordance with local and national standards. Your passion for achieving better outcomes for children, young people, and their families will drive you to deliver We Make Camden's priorities and work in accordance with Camden Family Help, and the Relational Practice Framework.

You will provide leadership and effective management oversight of Youth Work practice and Targeted Youth Support cases held by your team, ensuring timely and effective service delivery that helps children and families achieve sustainable outcomes. Your significant experience in managing staff and service performance, particularly in early intervention and prevention services, including case management and quality assurance, will be crucial.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

To be considered for one of these exciting roles, you must hold a Level 4 or higher qualification in a related field such as Youth and Community Work, Youth Justice, Social Work, Connexion and Career, or Substance Misuse. While management qualification and training are desirable, it is essential to have at least five years of post-qualification experience managing or working with children and young people in related fields such as Youth Work, Youth Offending Services, Connexions, Social Work, Early Intervention, and Prevention Services.

You must possess a thorough understanding of the legislative framework and policies related to children's services, including safeguarding and child protection, and demonstrate detailed knowledge of early intervention and prevention policies and practices.

As an adaptive leader, you should be able to support and motivate staff through change management processes such as reorganisation. Experience of setting performance standards, conducting regular appraisals, and providing constructive feedback to drive individual and team development is also a requirement.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are vital, along with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences. To be successful in this role, you must have experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Additionally, you must possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to interpret data from various sources to identify and respond to service and user needs, and produce regular plans, statistical information, and reports to drive service improvement.
