Job summary

RGB Recruitment is seeking dedicated Youth Development Workers in St Austell to empower young people aged 16‑25 overcoming challenges and achieving independence. You will provide one-to-one support, create action plans, and assist with tenancy sustainment, helping young people access vital services.

The ideal candidate has experience in support roles, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of safeguarding mental health challenges. This temporary role offers £15.34 per hour for 37 hours a week until September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or engaging with young people.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and support planning.
  • An understanding of mental health, wellbeing and the challenges facing vulnerable young people.

Youth Development Worker (Agency Temp) – St Austell

We're looking for two dedicated Youth Development Workers to join a supported accommodation service for young people aged 16‑25. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting young people experiencing homelessness to build confidence, develop life skills and take positive steps towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing one‑to‑one support and key worker sessions.
  • Creating and reviewing personalised support and action plans.
  • Completing risk assessments and managing safeguarding concerns.
  • Supporting tenancy sustainment and housing‑related needs.
  • Assisting with benefits applications and financial management.
  • Helping young people access education, training and employment opportunities.
  • Working alongside partner agencies to secure the right support.
  • Preparing young people for a successful move‑on into independent accommodation.
About You

We're looking for someone who can build trust, motivate others and remain calm when faced with challenges.

  • Experience supporting or engaging with young people.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and support planning.
  • An understanding of mental health, wellbeing and the challenges facing vulnerable young people.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A proactive, resilient and person‑centred approach.
