Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) seeks a Youth Support Worker to directly engage with young people, delivering programmes and activities designed to support social education and participation. You will work under the Youth Support Worker-in-Charge and contribute to safeguarding and service delivery.

The role requires at least six months of youth work experience, a relevant qualification or equivalent, and a willingness to undertake training as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate how you meet essential criteria on the application form.
• Evidence of six months’ (paid or unpaid) youth work experience.
• Willingness to undertake relevant job-related training when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver youth work programmes and activities for participants.
• Help young people engage actively in group settings and participate in activities.
• Build rapport and communicate effectively with young people.
• Support relationships with the wider community and external agencies.
• Encourage youth to explore goals and anticipate their future achievements.
• Assist in safeguarding and implementing child protection policies.
