Job summary

Education Authority in Northern Ireland seeks a Centre Based Youth Worker 2 to manage the Youth Centre and maximise the use of the centre for young people, delivering a range of activities aligned with the Youth Service Curriculum.

You will develop an Annual Action Plan, liaise with the Youth Centre Management Committee, staff and partners, and promote inclusive, high-quality youth work across the designated area. A driving role may be required; 36 hours weekly across 10 sessions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Youth Worker in accordance with the JNC Report for Youth Workers
• Demonstrable ability to design, deliver and evaluate youth work training
• Experience building relationships with young people and partners

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a range of services at unit level and within the designated area
• Work directly with young people by assessing needs and delivering planned activities
• Develop an Annual Action Plan and contribute to Area and strategic plans
• Ensure active participation of young people in programmes and centre management
• Engage with staff, volunteers and partner agencies to deliver programmes
• Oversee governance, administration and finances for the Youth Centre and area
• Support outreach work and development of services with the wider community
