Job summary

Christian Action Housing Association - Enfield is seeking dedicated youth coaches to empower residents aged 16-24 through coaching, guidance and practical support. You will help residents move toward independent living while building resilient life skills and strong community ties.

The role involves enabling education, employment and training engagement, managing housing duties, and collaborating with safeguarding protocols to protect vulnerable individuals in a busy supported housing

Qualifications

• Coaching young people to achieve independent living and successful outcomes.
• Resilience and flexibility in collaborative work with others.
• Experience with safeguarding legislation as it relates to youth and vulnerable adults.
• Ability to analyse figures for benefit claims and rent accounts.
• Experience working in a busy environment with adaptability and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Coaching young people to develop independent living skills and become active members of society.
• Collaborate with staff to carry out life tasks and practical support for residents.
• Engage young people in education, employment and training opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with young people and external professionals.
• Develop and lead life skills workshops with the engagement team.
• Support residents to manage housing responsibilities, including rent and benefits.

Role Overview

Our youth coaches are an essential part of our Supporting Housing team. They provide excellent service and support to young people aged 16-24 yrs. Through coaching, discussion and guidance they help the residents in our service to work towards independent living. Our youth coaches inspire young people to know that they matter, that they can reach their goals and be the best they can be.

Key Responsibilities

• Coaching young people to achieve independent living skills and become an active part of society, in order for them to successfully move on from the service. This can involve all elements of the individual’s well-being including financial, mental and physical.
• Working creatively, using a range of methods to get results and achieve excellent outcomes. This includes working practically alongside a young person to carry out essential life tasks.
• Engaging young people in education, employment and training.
• Building excellent relationships with young people and all external professionals.
• Develop, lead and support life skills workshops in partnership with the engagement team.
• Supporting young people to maintain their licence agreement and all areas of housing management, such as paying rent and maintaining Universal Credit and Housing Benefit.
