Job summary

Barnardo's Scotland in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire is seeking a caring practitioner to support children and young people, working across Staying Connected and Young Carers services.

You will build trusting relationships, provide emotional and practical help, and deliver engaging activities while maintaining professional boundaries. Evening/weekend work and a valid driving licence are essential to cover the region.

Qualifications

• Experience of engaging and building relationships with children and young people.
• Ability to provide emotional and practical support while maintaining boundaries.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to children and young people.
• Plan and deliver engaging group sessions and activities.
• Support brothers and sisters to strengthen their relationships.
• Support young carers to have their needs identified and their voices heard.
• Work with families and professionals to achieve outcomes.
• Raise awareness of needs of young carers and siblings.
• Travel across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire to meet needs.
