Job summary

The Church of the Living Hope in Milford Haven seeks a dedicated youth and children's worker with a strong personal faith to lead and develop activities for children and young people, helping them grow as disciples of Jesus. The role focuses on building relationships within the community and pioneering new initiatives.

The successful candidate would lead a weekday group for ages 11-16, assist with Sunday morning activities, and, on occasions, support a parent and toddler group while contributing

The Trustees of The Church of the Living Hope and specifically Rev Andy Bookless, the Church Minister.

Work Area

Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, based primarily in the communities of Hubberston and Hakin.

Salary

Initially £13,918 for 20 hours per week, rising after 6 months, then annually (initially a 2 and a half-year post).

Role

We are looking and praying for someone with a strong personal faith and the ability to build good relationships with children and young people, who will take a significant role in developing our work with children and young people and helping them to grow as disciples of Jesus. We hope to appoint someone who would be able to start soon.

The successful applicant would be expected to play a leading role in a weekday group for young people (aged 11-16), and in our activities for children and young people on a Sunday morning, whilst also assisting on occasions with a parent and toddler group, and enabling the church to develop further activities that reach out to and nurture the faith of children and young people .

This job requires a team player, who also has the ability to pioneer and develop new initiatives.

The Church

The Church of the Living Hope is a growing church which began in January 2022 and currently meets in a local community centre. We are clear in our commitment to orthodox Biblical faith, whilst also wanting to be open to all the workings of the Holy Spirit. We are part of a network of churches within the Global Anglican Communion and are also involved in New Wine Cymru.
