The role involves overseeing product development, managing supplier partnerships, optimising pricing and inventory, and analysing market trends to maximise profitability and competitiveness. The successful candidate will work closely with procurement, sales, and marketing teams to enhance customer experiences, drive commercial performance, and expand the company's golf travel portfolio.

Location:Your Golf Travel, Cloister Court, 22-26 Farringdon Lane, London, England, EC1R 3AJ

Description:

Your Golf Travel is the worlds largest golf travel specialist providing golf breaks and holidays across more than 3,000 locations in 22 countries, including the UK, Ireland, Europe, and beyond. Since our launch in 2004, we have seen swift expansion and now boast a team of over 180 professionals based in our offices in London, Brighton, St Andrews, and Killarney. Throughout this journey, we have established incredible relationships with our suppliers and customers, created an extensive array of exceptional travel products and experiences, garnered numerous awards... and this is only the beginning!

At Your Golf Travel, we are driven by our "Always Going The Extra Yard" values, a set of four core principles that define how we work and who we are. We put the Customer First, Always, using empathy and deep insight to consistently exceed expectations. We believe in the power of the collective to Own it, Together, combining personal accountability with high-pace collaboration to deliver results. Our team is encouraged to Think Smart, Act Bold, challenging convention with an ambitious, entrepreneurial spirit that knows no limits. Finally, we maintain The Expert Edge by constantly evolving, learning, and pushing boundaries to ensure we are always going that extra yard for our clients.

Do I need to be a golfer? …

Not at all. We primarily operate as a travel company, with golf being just one aspect of our offerings. If you’re eager to learn, we’d be thrilled to equip you with all the knowledge you need about our product; however, we can’t promise you’ll become the next Tiger Woods or Nelly Korda. What we truly seek is a genuine passion for travel and an eagerness to learn.

As the Commercial Director, you will be the driving force behind our product strategy, revenue maximisation, and market competitiveness, overseeing the entire commercial lifecycle of our golf travel portfolio. Bridging the gap between procurement and sales, you will leverage data to ensure we always have the right product, at the right price, in front of the right customer. In doing so, you'll champion Customer First, Always, using deep insight to consistently exceed expectations.

This highly analytical yet creative role requires you to Think Smart, Act Bold - challenging convention with an entrepreneurial spirit and approaching dynamic pricing, yield management, and merchandising with ambition without limits. To maintain The Expert Edge, you will constantly learn, evolve, and push traditional boundaries to go the extra yard for our clients in a rapidly changing market.

Ultimately, you will Own it, Together. You will take full personal accountability for our commercial outcomes while collaborating cross-functionally to make things happen at pace, ensuring our entire team stays aligned and driving toward the same leaderboard.

What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Product Planning & Development
  • Lead the strategic vision for our golf travel portfolio, identifying new destinations, hotel partnerships, and golf course collaborations.
  • Formulate comprehensive briefs for our procurement/buying team, guiding them on target rates, inventory needs, and specific contracting requirements for hotels, golf courses, and ground services.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, golf tournament schedules, and travel patterns to develop innovative, high-demand travel packages.
  • Work with the contracting team and operational team to agree the customer journey propositions for all our products, eg service in resort, gifting, product inclusions, additional benefits and usp’s.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure YGT and suppliers deliver the right experience.
2. Pricing & Yield Management
  • Own the pricing strategy for all travel packages, ensuring an optimal balance between volume, revenue, and profit margins.
  • Implement robust yield management strategies to dynamically adjust pricing based on seasonality, demand, and competitor behavior.
  • Monitor inventory commitments (allotments) closely to minimize financial risk while maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Manage Channel Performance strategies and their application to deliver targets
3. Data Analysis & Commercial Strategy
  • Continuously analyze sales performance, booking curves, and customer data to evaluate product health.
  • Identify shifting customer preferences and market gaps to ensure our inventory is agile and perfectly aligned with demand.
  • Provide regular commercial reports and actionable insights to the executive team.
  • Set intake and performance targets by region, country, channel and team
  • Oversee the merchandising strategy across our website, marketing channels, and sales toolkits to optimise conversion rates.
  • Manage and elevate the content standards for every hotel, resort, and golf course in our portfolio, ensuring descriptions, imagery, and key details are accurate, compelling, and up to date.
  • Manage content articles, product lines, packaging and themes across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to design targeted promotional campaigns for underperforming or high-margin products.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of commercial leadership experience within the travel/tourism sector (Tour Operations, OTA, or Hospitality). Experience specifically within golf travel or luxury niche sports travel is highly advantageous.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proven track record in yield management, pricing optimization, and using data analytics tools to drive commercial decisions.
  • Product Expertise: Strong understanding of hotel and golf course contracting, inventory management, and supplier relationships.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with travel booking systems, CMS platforms, and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Understanding of the Game: A solid understanding of golf culture, top courses, and what makes a golf trip exceptional is a massive plus.
Why Join Us?
  • Annual Leave - 25 days holiday, increasing by 1 day per year of service (up to 28 days), plus the option to buy back up to 5 extra days each year.
  • Amazing Travel Perks – Enjoy familiarisation trips to top golf and holiday destinations in the UK and overseas, plus exclusive discounts on golf holidays, flights, and hotels.

About Your Golf Travel

Your Golf Travel started with an idea that two young golf enthusiasts had in the Summer of 2005, having spotted a gap in the market for discounted golf travel packages.

In July 2005, Ross Marshall and Andrew Harding invested everything they had (including two hefty credit card loans!) into marketing their vision for an affordable, online golf travel supplier. Initially operating from a bedroom in London, the idea has since developed into a thriving business of 200 staff.

Now in its 20th year of trading Your Golf Travel has become the largest golf travel company in the world, with an annual turnover of over £100 million, sending on average 200,000 golfers on holiday every year and operating across over 30 countries globally.

Our Head Office is based in central London - specifically the vibrant and bustling hotspot of Farringdon and now have regional offices in Brighton, St Andrews, Killarney, The Algrave, Alpharetta (USA), and Atlanta (USA).

Our group of companies has grown over the years, and is now also home to our sister companies: Premiergolf.com, Walker Sports, Destination Golf Services, Racingbreaks.com and Out of Office.

As we continue to grow our presence we are investing signifiantly in our people, with a focus on learning & development and career development. We embrace a culture of high performance, whilst retaining the thing that make us such a great place to work, fun!

We are always keen to hear from passionate individuals with a love for travel and/or Golf who would love to join our team!
