Description du poste

Salary:£32,578 - £34,811 per annum

Interview date:To be confirmed upon shortlisting

In this role you will have the chance to work from one of our hubs located in Trowbridge, Chippenham, or Salisbury as well as being expected to provide outreach advice and support in our communities across the county. There will be opportunities to work in a variety of environments such as hospitals, community drop-in centres and customer’s homes to target the support to the hardest to reach households in our community.

A key element of this new role will be supporting Wiltshire Council’s care-experienced young people as they move towards independent living. You will work alongside colleagues and partner services to provide early, practical and trauma-informed support, helping young people develop the skills and confidence to manage their accommodation, sustain their tenancies and reduce the risk of homelessness. As a Homeless Early Intervention Officer, you will provide vital advice and support to customers, empowering them to understand their tenure rights, maintain their accommodation and prevent homelessness. Your work will be varied, from maximising income and developing budgeting skills to supporting mediation where there is a risk of family exclusion and connecting customers with essential services. Using a trauma-informed approach, you’ll help people navigate housing challenges and build the skills and resilience needed to maintain a stable home.

We are looking for someone with an innovative, creative and solution-focused approach who can build positive working relationships, encourage engagement and work effectively with customers who may be reluctant or resistant to change.
