Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills to support, mentor, and empower care leavers as they transition into adulthood? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
We are seeking a dedicated Young Person’s Adviser to join our Children in our Care Team, supporting care-experienced young people aged 18 to 25. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help shape futures, build independence, and promote opportunities for education, employment, and personal growth.
As one of our Young Person’s Advisers, you will manage a caseload of care leavers, ensuring statutory duties are met within required timescales, and working collaboratively with housing providers, health services, and other agencies to ensure holistic support.
You will attend Care Plan Reviews and co-develop Pathway Plans tailored to each young person’s evolving needs. And you will need to maintain regular contact with care leavers, including those who prefer remote support.
You will promote educational attainment and liaise with schools, colleges, and universities and support our care leavers in securing and sustaining suitable accommodation using their Leaving Care Grant. Whilst also maintaining accurate and timely case records in line with statutory and departmental requirements.
Our Young Person’s Advisers need to possess a relevant qualification and have experience working with young people, ideally within a social care or support setting, as well as knowledge of legislation and entitlements relevant to care leavers. With strong interpersonal and mentoring skills, you will have the ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends and a solid commitment to empowering young people and promoting their independence.
We work on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days per week based in the office.
