Job summary

Curo Group is seeking a Young Parents & Young Persons Support Worker for Pathways in Bath. You will work one‑to‑one with a small caseload, shaping support around each person’s goals, including budgeting, tenancy care and wellbeing. Sessions can occur outside the office to meet clients where they feel comfortable.

Join a supportive team led by an experienced supervisor; we value the right values and a willingness to learn, with strong boundary and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people who are homeless or vulnerable, including managing a caseload and developing support plans and risk assessments
• An understanding of safeguarding and of social housing and tenure law
• Ability to engage people who may find it difficult to access support, and to work in partnership with other agencies
• Clear communication, accurate record-keeping and good Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries, and to work well under pressure as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Welcoming new customers, building trust and developing person-centred support plans and risk assessments with them
• Helping each person build the skills and confidence to keep their home, from budgeting to managing their tenancy
• Spotting safeguarding concerns early and acting on them in line with our procedures
• Working with colleagues across Curo and partner agencies so each person gets joined-up support
• Keeping accurate records and acting on customers' feedback to improve Pathways

Young Parents & Young Persons Support Worker

£25,878 per annum + benefits | Pathways, Bath, BA2 | Permanent

Full Time | 37 hours per week

Moving into your first home is a big step at any age. For the young people and young parents at Pathways, it often follows family breakdown or homelessness. What they need next is someone in their corner who believes they can make it work.

Pathways is our supported housing service in central Bath. The people living here have medium to high support needs and stay with us for up to two years, in a mix of bedsit flats and rooms in shared houses, while they build the skills and confidence to move on.

As our Young Parents & Young Persons Support Worker, you'll work one to one with a small caseload, shaping support around what each person wants help with. That might be budgeting, managing their tenancy, looking after their wellbeing or planning their next move. Sessions don't have to happen in an office. A walk or a coffee can work just as well.

You'll be backed by an experienced Team Leader and a supportive team. If you bring the right values and a willingness to learn, we'll help you develop the rest.

What you'll be doing

You care about the young people and parents you support, and you believe everyone can move forward with the right help around them. You're patient and consistent, and you're good at building trust with people who may find it hard to ask for help.

Essential:
