Confidential is seeking an enthusiastic Young Carers Activities Coordinator (Primary Age) to plan and deliver engaging activities for young carers aged 5-12 across West Surrey. You will create safe, welcoming spaces, build relationships with families and partner with schools to identify those who may benefit from support.

The role is part-time (18 hours) on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a focus on safeguarding and independent, proactive work.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children aged 5-12 in a professional setting.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Understands safeguarding and child protection requirements.
• Organised, proactive and capable of working independently.
• Holds a full UK driving licence with vehicle access.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver a range of engaging activities across West Surrey.
• Create safe, welcoming spaces for young carers to connect and grow.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and partners.
• Work with schools and community partners to identify those in need.
• Occasionally run craft sessions, outdoor activities or holiday programmes.
• Support residential activities as required.

Salary: £34,669 £36,891 FTE (£17,334 £18,445 pro rata)

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young carers aged 5-12. Young carers often take on caring responsibilities at home that can impact their social lives, education and wellbeing. Our role is to give them the chance to relax, have fun, build resilience and connect with others who understand their experiences.

About the Role

You Ll plan and deliver a range of engaging activities across West Surrey, creating safe, welcoming spaces where young carers can connect with others, grow in confidence and feel supported.

You Ll build positive relationships with children and families, work alongside schools and community partners, and help identify young carers who may benefit from our support.

This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same. One day you could be running a craft session or outdoor activity, the next planning a holiday programme or supporting a child attending their first group.

We re Looking For Someone Who

• Has experience working with children aged 5-12 in a professional setting.
• Can plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection.
• Builds positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
• Is organised, proactive and able to work independently.

• Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle.

Experience in roles such as Youth Worker, Play Worker, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Children s Support Worker or Family Support Worker would be particularly valuable, although we welcome applications from anyone with relevant experience.

Working Pattern

• 18 hours per week, across three days.
• Wednesday must be a working day.
• Burpham office, with regular travel across West Surrey.
• Up to two evenings per month (until 8.00pm).
• One weekend day per month.
• Availability during school holidays is required.
• Occasional overnight stays may be required to support residential activities.
