Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Young Adult Support Worker in Cardiff to assist homeless young adults aged 18-25 in hostels. You will support daily living, promote independence and wellbeing, and work within safety guidelines to protect residents.

The role requires empathy, resilience and at least 6 months’ social care experience. A driving licence, restraint training, and a current DBS are preferred. Flexible hours offered by a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.
• Empathetic, caring and resilient nature.
• At least 6 months’ experience in social care or work with children.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• TMVA Restraint Training certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support young adults in daily activities and interests.
• Promote independence and wellbeing of young people.
• Protect young people from health and welfare risks.
• Provide emotional and practical support in hostel environment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimising incidents.
