Job summary

King's Leadership Academy Wavertree, part of the Great Schools Trust, is seeking an ambitious Year Leader to shape the culture and daily life of a new secondary school in Liverpool. You will oversee pastoral welfare, safeguarding and personal development for a designated year group.

As a founding member of staff, you will help establish systems, routines and high expectations, building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Calm under pressure, professional in difficult moments and able to build trust with pupils, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pastoral welfare, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and personal development of a designated year group.
• Know pupils and families; challenge, support, encourage and hold the line when needed.
• Help create a culture where pupils feel safe, valued and stretched; establish systems and routines.
