Job summary

The Quest Academy is seeking a proactive Year Leader to support pupils’ personal development, wellbeing and behaviour. You will work with our senior leadership and pastoral teams to maintain high standards across the academy and to be a visible, trusted presence for students.

The role is full time, term time plus 4 weeks, with a fast-paced and varied remit including assemblies, interventions and regular contact with parents and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading pastoral programmes and student welfare initiatives.
• Strong communication and collaboration with senior leaders and parents.
• Ability to manage a team of tutors and oversee a broad pastoral remit.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of tutors and oversee the tutor programme.
• Quality assure the tutor programme and support assemblies.
• Run interventions and respond to pupil behaviour and wellbeing concerns.
• Engage with parents and other stakeholders to support student development.
• Take a lead role in wider school leadership and policy implementation.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Year Leader to join our team at The Quest Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in supporting our students’ personal development, wellbeing and behaviour - ensuring that every young person can thrive and succeed.

As the Year Leader you will work closely with our SLT and pastoral team to maintain the highest standards of behaviour, attendance and conduct across the Academy. You will be a visible and trusted presence for students, providing guidance, consistency and care, as well as responding swiftly and effectively when challenges arise.

The role will be varied and fast paced. You will lead a team of dedicated tutors, quality assure the tutor programme, lead assemblies, run interventions, meet with parents and other stakeholders and take a significant role in the wider leadership of the school, ensuring that we are efficient and effective in all that we do. There will also be unexpected challenges from time to time, which is often the nature of this important, dynamic and satisfying position.

The post is full time, term time plus 4 weeks.
