RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. offers a Year in Industry placement in Swindon/London hybrid, starting July 2027.

You will gain practical knowledge of consenting and environmental management within offshore wind construction, joining a team focused on environmental packages and regulatory engagement. The role covers Environmental Impact Assessments, marine licensing, and Development Consent Orders, with opportunities to collaborate across a large organisation and participate in stakeholder

Qualifications

  • Ongoing studies in environmental science, environmental management, or related fields with year-in-industry eligibility.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confidence working in a diverse team and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites when required.
  • Residence in the UK for five years due to National Security Vetting potential.
  • A cover letter explaining suitability and alignment with studies/career plans.

Responsibilities

  • Gain practical knowledge of consenting and environmental management during offshore wind farm construction.
  • Develop experience in Environmental Impact Assessments and licensing processes.
  • Support preparation and review of consent and licence applications.
  • Draft and review documents, meeting minutes, presentations and trackers.
  • Assist with project management and coordination of team activities.
  • Engage with regulators and stakeholders including MMO, Crown Estate, Natural England and local authorities.

Hybrid model meaning 3 days per week onsite in Swindon or London, rest can be home base

About the role
  • Gain practical knowledge of consenting and environmental management processes during offshore wind farm construction.
  • Develop experience in Environmental Impact Assessments, marine licensing, Development Consent Orders and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project planning.
  • Support the preparation and review of consent and licence applications.
  • Draft and review key documents, meeting minutes, presentations and trackers.
  • Assist with project management and the coordination of team activities.
  • Contribute to engagement with regulators and statutory stakeholders, including the Marine Management Organisation, The Crown Estate, Natural England and Local Planning Authorities.
  • Participate in industry events and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across a large, industry-leading organisation.
Job requirements and experience
  • Ongoing studies in environmental science, environmental management, environmental biology, renewable energy, geography, marine biology, oceanography, marine sciences or a similar subject.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confidence working in a diverse team and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites when required.
  • A minimum of five years’ residence in the UK due to the potential requirement for National Security Vetting.

Advantageous, but not essential
