Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced Year 6 Primary Teacher to join a Coventry-based academy (CV2) on a long-term, fixed-term basis until Easter 2027. The role focuses on delivering engaging English and Maths lessons and supporting Year 6 SATs preparation.

You will work with the Year 6 team to monitor progress, identify gaps, and adapt teaching to suit pupils of varying abilities, including SEND, in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• QTS essential for the role.
• Strong Year 6 teaching experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs expectations.
• Confident delivering high-quality English and Maths lessons.
• Experience preparing pupils for end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments.
• Strong classroom management and assessment skills.
• Ability to quickly establish positive relationships from day one.
• Proactive, adaptable and committed approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective teaching across the Year 6 curriculum.
• Support the school's core curriculum, particularly English and Maths.
• Help pupils develop knowledge, skills and confidence for KS2 SATs.
• Identify gaps in learning and deliver targeted teaching and interventions.
• Use assessment information to monitor progress and adapt teaching.
• Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND.
• Work collaboratively with the Year 6 team and senior leadership.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and pupil progress.
