Job summary

REESON Education in Thurrock is recruiting a Year 6 Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school on a full-time basis from asap. The successful candidate will support KS2 pupils and work closely with teachers to deliver lessons across the curriculum.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, help develop communication and social skills, and contribute to a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
• Experience within a Year 6 class setting is essential.
• Patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Interest in SEN education.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom assistance to Year 6 pupils.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Help students develop communication, social and independent living skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and parents to promote student progress.
• Maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
