Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a friendly Altrincham primary school to recruit a Year 5 Teaching Assistant from September 2026. You will support a Year 5 class, work with pupils one-to-one and in small groups, and help pupils develop confidence and positive study habits.

Ideally you will hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or have relevant experience. The role offers competitive weekly pay, CPD opportunities, and ongoing consultant support within a safeguarding-focused school

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within a Year 5 classroom.
• Work with pupils one-to-one and in small intervention groups.
• Help children build confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Support pupils with SEND, EAL and additional learning needs.
• Assist the class teacher in maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Contribute to classroom preparation, organisation and behaviour management.
• Encourage pupils to achieve academic and personal goals.
