Job summary

Academics in Gravesend, Kent is seeking an enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school. The role starts October 2026 on a full-time basis and will move to part-time (2-3 days per week) from January 2027 through July 2027.

Applicants must have QTS and KS2/Year 5 experience, plus strong lesson planning and classroom management. An enhanced DBS is required or applicants must be willing to obtain one. Salary will follow the school's pay policy.

Qualifications

• QTS required.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5.
• Confident planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• DBS Enhanced required or willing to apply for a new enhanced DBS immediately.

Responsibilities

• Teach Year 5 in a KS2 setting.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons from October–December 2026.
• Transition to part-time 2–3 days per week from January–July 2027.
• Support pupils' academic and personal development.
• Work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
