Job summary

Milk Education are seeking a Year 5 SEND Teaching Assistant for a Standish primary school. This long-term, temporary role involves one-to-one support with a Year 5 pupil, aiding catch-up sessions and assisting with lesson planning alongside the teacher.

The ideal candidate has recent school experience, solid numeracy and literacy skills, and a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare or education. Flexible hours and APSCo-compliant safeguarding processes are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support a Year 5 pupil one-to-one, responding to individual needs.
• Help deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps.
• Work with the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources.
• Promote an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student belongs.
