Academics are seeking a Year 2 Teacher for a large primary school in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, starting September 2026. The role emphasizes KS1 and Year 2 transition support within a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with Year 2 and KS1.
• Support pupils in developing core skills in literacy, numeracy and independent learning.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress to inform planning and next steps.
• Prepare pupils for end of KS1 assessments where required.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents/carers.

Job description

Academics are an education recruitment agency working in partnership with primary schools across South Wales. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a large, welcoming primary school in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is enthusiastic about Key Stage 1 and committed to supporting pupils as they prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will join a supportive teaching team in a school with strong leadership and a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan

Pay Rate: per day (inclusive of holiday pay)

Higher rates are available dependent upon experience, training, qualifications and client rate available

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
