Job summary

Veritas Education are partnering with a local primary school in the Lancaster area to recruit a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their team from October Half Term 2026.

You will take responsibility for a Year 2 class, plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum, assess pupil progress and create an inclusive learning environment while working closely with colleagues, staff and families.

Qualifications

• QTS and KS1 teaching experience required.
• Sound understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Full-time class teacher responsibility for a Year 2 class.
• Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Assessing, tracking and monitoring pupil progress.
• Creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents.
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, attainment and personal development.
