Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a Year 2 Teacher for a full-time, long-term role at a welcoming primary school in West Molesey, Surrey, starting after October half term 2026.

You will plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons, manage the classroom, support wellbeing, and work with teaching assistants to meet individual needs.

The position offers Monday–Friday 8:30am–3:30pm and a PAYE daily rate of £150–£190, with potential for longer-term opportunities within the LEO Academy Trust.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent.
• Experience teaching in a UK primary school.
• Experience teaching KS1, ideally Year 2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Good knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across the Year 2 curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Effectively manage classroom behaviour and routines.
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
• Work closely with teaching assistants and wider school staff.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures and curriculum expectations.
• Use assessment and feedback to help pupils achieve their potential.
