Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Year 2 Primary Teacher for a Sutton-based school. The role covers planning, preparation, marking and engagement with parents, starting September 2026 on a temporary contract, full-time (8:30am–4pm, term-time only).

Open to both NQT's and experienced teachers, with the potential for contract extension or a permanent position depending on performance. QTS or equivalent required and safeguarding training updated within the last year.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year EYFS/KS1/KS2 teaching experience in the UK.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver Year 2 lessons.
• Mark work and provide feedback to students.
• Communicate with parents through parents evenings.

Education

About the School

The school is a popular mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff.

The position is open to both NQT's and experienced teachers. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year EYFS/KS1/KS2 teaching experience in the UK
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
