Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Year 2 Primary Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Croydon, South London. The role is a full-time, long-term position starting September 2026, with potential extension or permanent prospects depending on performance.

Applicants must hold QTS (or equivalent) and have at least 2 years KS1 experience in the UK, with strong behaviour management and SEN/EAL experience. DBS update and right to work in the UK are required.

About the School

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Year 2 Primary Teacher for a welcoming Primary school in Croydon, South London. The school is a popular four-form entry mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff. The position is only open to qualified and experienced teachers. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Contract / Position Details

• Location - Croydon, South London
• Position - Year 2 Primary Teacher
• Type of work - Class Teacher - planning, preparation, marking, parents evenings etc
• Contract start date - September 2026
• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/part time - Full time / Long term
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP170 per day (depending on MPS)
• Hours - 8:00am - 16:00pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)

Experience, training and qualifications

• QTS or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years Key Stage 1 teaching experience in the UK
• Strong KS1 national curriculum knowledge
• Strong behaviour management
• Extensive SEN/EAL experience
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
