Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2/3 Teacher to join a friendly and nurturing team at a vibrant school. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach a mixed-age class in a supportive and community-focused school environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to achieve their best. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as Year 2/3 Teacher:
  1. Plan and deliver effective lessons that meet the needs of all learners in KS1 and lower KS2 classes.
  2. Use a range of assessment strategies to track and support pupil progress.
  3. Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share resources and ideas.
  5. Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure targeted intervention where needed.
  6. Maintain regular communication with parents and carers.
  7. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, trips, and events.
  8. Uphold the school’s values and policies, including safeguarding and wellbeing.
Ideal Year 2/3 Teacher:
  1. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  2. Has a strong understanding of the KS1 and lower KS2 curriculum.
  3. Is confident teaching phonics, early literacy, and numeracy.
  4. Can differentiate effectively to support a wide range of abilities.
  5. Builds warm, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  6. Brings creativity, resilience, and a commitment to inclusive education.
  7. Is reflective and open to ongoing professional development.
