Job summary

Veritas Education is recruiting a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support a class at West End Primary School in Morecambe. The role is part-time with hours 8:45am-3:30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, including a 30-minute lunch break.

Immediate start with expected continuation until Christmas, possibly longer. You will work closely with the Year 1 teacher to support learning, literacy and numeracy, and help pupils stay engaged.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children.
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic.
• Able to support learning across the curriculum.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities.
• Work with small groups to reinforce learning.
• Provide additional support in literacy and numeracy.
• Help pupils stay engaged and focused during lessons.
• Promote a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
