This school is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support their pupils during this crucial stage in their learning journey. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver a supportive, stimulating and nurturing environment that promotes early literacy, numeracy and emotional development. Duties as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant:

Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.

Work with individuals and small groups to help children reach their potential.

Provide targeted support for pupils who may need additional help, including those with SEND or EAL.

Assist with phonics teaching and early reading and writing skills.

Help maintain a well-organised, welcoming classroom environment with engaging displays and resources.

Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development.

Ideal Year 1 Teaching Assistant:

A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years).

Experience working in a KS1 or Year 1 classroom.

Knowledge of phonics programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc, or Letters and Sounds as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant.

Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs.
