Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Year 1 Primary Teacher for a mainstream primary school in the CR4, Mitcham area. The role is open to both NQT's and experienced teachers. The contract runs from September 2026 until July 2027, with potential extension or permanent placement depending on performance.

Responsibilities include planning, preparation, marking, and delivering lessons, plus parents' evenings. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year EYFS/KS1/KS2 teaching experience in the UK is required.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year is required.

Responsibilities

• Class Teacher: planning, preparation, marking, and parents evenings.
• Provide engaging lessons and maintain high standards of pupil welfare.
• Collaborate with staff and communicate with parents regarding pupil progress.

Education

QTS or equivalent

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

The school is a popular mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff.

The position is open to both NQT's and experienced teachers. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years

• Accredited continued professional development courses including safeguarding and behaviour management
