Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking a Year 1 Primary Teacher for a January 2027 start in Bexley. You will plan and deliver lessons aligned with the Year 1 National Curriculum, support phonics development and reading, and differentiate instruction for diverse learners.

We welcome both Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers. Applicants should hold QTS, have KS1/EYFS experience, and demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• QT S required for Year 1 teaching role.
• Experience in KS1 or EYFS is essential.
• Strong knowledge of early reading and phonics required.

Year 1 Primary Teacher - Bexley - January 2027

Location: Bexley, South East London
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: 170-240 per day
Contract: Full-time, long-term opportunities
Hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:15am-3:45pm

Are you a creative and enthusiastic KS1 teacher looking for a new opportunity in January?

We are looking for teachers who can help children build confidence and develop their foundational skills as they progress from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 1 National Curriculum.
• Teach systematic synthetic phonics and support early reading development.
• Use practical and creative activities to build literacy and numeracy skills.
• Differentiate learning for pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs.
• Create a supportive and structured classroom environment.
• Monitor attainment and work collaboratively with support staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience in KS1 or EYFS.
• Strong knowledge of early reading and phonics.
• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
• A genuine passion for helping young learners develop.

Experience with phonics schemes such as Little Wandle or Read Write Inc. would be beneficial.
